January 9th, 2010

Thanks again to Ned for hosting this year’s Seattle Tribe Latkes and Beer Party — we had a great turnout and a great time!  Below are a few photos from the event … and remember that our next ride is scheduled for 31 January 10 – we meet at 9 AM at our usual location – the Factoria Starbucks.  See you there!

An Annual Event to be Remembered
Sun., January 3, 2010
4 PM

Place it on your calendar. It’s a welcome to the new year, a last opportunity to have some more latkes, and an excuse to use those left over chanukah candles. Our last holiday party was in the dark…electrical outages all over Puget Sound. Nevertheless, we had great fun. Candle lighting, making latkes on a gas stove, drinking wine and warm conviviality. An event to remember. Let’s do it again. Your hosts invite you to bring a menorah, left over candles, a side dish, entree or beverage to share. We’ll have the potatoes, onions, oil, skillets, et al ready to go.

Location information has been posted on our mailing list (seattletribe@yahoogroups.com).  If you are not a member, send e-mail to info@seattletribe.com and we’ll get you the details so you can join us.  Thanks to Ned for hosting this event!  Be sure to send a note to let him know if you are planning on attending.

29 December 2009 – NO RIDE – 3 January 2010 Event Instead

November 29th, 2009

Because of the number of folks out of town over the winter holidays, there will be no ride or meeting on the 29th of December.  Instead, we will have an event on the 3rd of January, an opportunity to either dry out from the New Year’s celebrations or have one last hurrah before the first work day of the new year.  Details forthcoming …

29 November 2009 – Ride to The Kitchen in Enumclaw

November 29th, 2009

Great ride this morning — pretty chilly, but fun.  And a great breakfast as well at The Kitchen in Enumclaw, WA, where the pancakes are wagon-wheel sized (or should I say motorcycle wheel sized?).  5 bikes, 6 riders today and another half dozen at the meeting this morning at Starbucks.  Great gathering!

29 November 2009 – Monthly Ride

November 25th, 2009

The regular monthly ride is this Sunday, 29 November 2009 at 9 AM at the Starbucks in Factoria.  Please bring your $18 membership dues for 2010.  No destination is currently planned, so be prepared for anything!  Or at least be prepared for breakfast, perhaps without any turkey!  As always we meet rain or shine.  See you then!

25 October 2009 – Ned’s Mystery Ride

October 28th, 2009

13 September 2009 – The Tribe hosts the SAJD Picnic

September 14th, 2009

Once again, The Tribe MC hosted the Seattle Association for Jews with Disabilities (SAJD) picnic – we raised over $500! Everyone had a blast. Click here for photos.  The morning started with a brief ride through Carnation and Fall City and ended at noon in Seward Park, where we were met by the SAJD folks.  Thanks to the members of The Tribe MC for another year of strong participation.

23 Nov 2008 – Tribe Meets On Sunday

November 22nd, 2008

A week early, but we’re meeting at 9 AM at the Starbucks in Factoria.  Bring your $18 membership checks for 2009.

25 May 2008 – Twede’s in North Bend

May 27th, 2008

Once again, Mort comes through with an awesome breakfast place.  Glenn, Steve, Mort, Elaine, and I met for coffee at the usual spot at 9 AM and followed that up with a short ride down 202 to North Bend, where we ate at Twede’s, famous for being the cafe in David Lynch’s Twin Peaks.  The food was great and plentiful, and the company was terrific.  From there, we rode to see Mort’s grandchild, just born a couple of days ago.
